Clifton Down invests in refurbishment programme
Clifton Down Shopping Centre has launched a refurbishment programme, designed to modernise the shopping environment for tenants and customers, refresh internal decoration, plus improve the lighting levels.
The works will include fitting a new ceiling and lights, installing a fresh floor, plus updating the décor. The car park lighting has recently been upgraded to LED fittings, this will be extended throughout the centre. Improving the lighting will increase brightness but also assist towards further reducing the centre’s carbon footprint.
Refurbishment work will take place overnight so there will be minimal disruption. The programme of building work will take approximately 9 weeks. It will be ‘business as usual’ for the retailers at Clifton Down Shopping Centre, who are welcoming the updates.
During a recent survey, a brilliant 92% of visitors to the centre reported that they felt comfortable when shopping at Clifton Down but only 8% felt that the centre was up to date and 47% felt it would benefit from being refreshed. The refurbishment programme should therefore enhance the experience for these shoppers whilst also providing a great retail experience for the local community.
On announcing the refurbishment programme, Charlotte Jarrett, Centre Manager of Clifton Down commented: ‘I am very excited to be taking Clifton Down Shopping Centre into this new phase. It’s fantastic to see such investment in a community shopping centre, especially when we continue to hear such negative stories surrounding the retail industry. We are aiming to provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our shoppers to visit every day. This is enhanced by the fact that we offer a fully occupied shopping centre with a great mix of national and independent businesses’.
